Dear Everitt Families:
It is wonderful to be back at it this week! Our students returned well-rested and ready to return to the important task of learning.
I have included photos in this newsletter of the assembly in the last week of school. We had so much fun! Students and staff competed in a basketball game, a marshmallow competition, and musical chairs. We celebrated students' achievement and growth on MAP testing as well as their extra-curricular activities. The energy in the gym was amazing as kids cheered for each other and it was a wonderful way to end the semester.
This week represents a fresh start for students. It is a good time to talk with your kids about their goals for the semester and to talk about ways that they can set themselves up to meet them. In our family, we create SMART goals. The goals must be specific, measurable, attainable, reasonable, and timely in order to be effective. For example, a behavioral goal to have less than two tardies until Spring Break would be specific (two tardies), measurable (can be seen and checked regularly in Infinite Campus/Parent Portal), attainable (it is possible to get to class on time), reasonable (it is possible to achieve the goal), and timely (it is within a specific time frame). Academic goals are created in similar ways. We would love to partner with you in those conversations if you'd like.
I wanted to address a rumor that has been floating around the community. I know, in response to the elementary consolidations in our community, people have been speculating that Everitt may close. I want to assure you that this is not the case. I reached out to our superintendent and directly asked if Everitt's closure was a possibility and she assured me that it is not. She wanted me to let you all know that Everitt is here to stay.
Thank you for supporting and believing in your neighborhood school. It is our privilege to partner with you!
Amanda

ENROLL NOW FOR THE 2023-24 SCHOOL YEAR
It's Time to Enroll, Jeffco!
Enrollment for the 2023-24 school year is now open through Friday, January 13, 2023. Completing enrollment helps our District prepare for next year’s staffing, budget, student resources, and more. Whether you will be attending your neighborhood school (K-12), returning to the same school, or applying to the school(s) of your choice, EnrollJeffco will provide the information you need to enroll in Jeffco Public Schools.
Please know that you can enroll in a K-12 school any time during Round 1. All applications submitted during each enrollment period will be considered equally as there is a lottery process. We encourage families to take their time to make the best decision on behalf of their student(s).
Not sure which school is best for your student? School Finder can help you make an informed decision for the 2023-24 school year.
