Cesilia Montano Aguilar: Bostrom's First Graduate of the Year
Congratulations to Cesilia and to Bostrom for having their first graduate of the year!
PXU Arizona Future Fellowship Fellows
PXU is leading the way with 8 out of the 20 Arizona's Future Fellowship 2021-2022 fellows who will be participating in expanding their leadership skills through Aliento! Arizona’s Future Fellowship is a transformative leadership development program for immigrant youth. Coming from schools across the valley, fellows work within their schools to practice self-advocacy skills and implement the organizing principles they learn during their monthly cohort trainings. Fellows work towards making their schools and their communities more equitable and inclusive.
5 of the fellows are current PXU students, and 3 of them are PXU alumni.
Here are the 8 fellows representing PXU:
Isai Solorzano, Senior at Metro Tech High School
Maryan Robledo, Senior at Bioscience High School
Maria Dominguez, Senior at Carl Hayden Community High School
Ruby Gonzalez Alvarado, Junior at Academies at South Mountain
Melina Morales, Senior at Bioscience High School
Guadalupe Reynoso Jimenez, Metro Tech Class of 2020
Guadalupe is currently attending Northern Arizona University as a Sophomore.
Milagros Heredia, Metro Tech Class of 2020
Milagros is currently a Sophomore at Grand Canyon University.
Bryanda Moreno Verdugo, Carl Hayden Class of 2021
Bryanda is currently a Freshman at Grand Canyon University.

AZ Diamondbacks Most Valuable Teachers in STEM: PXU Winners
On Sunday, September 26 at the game Mr. Jacob Dunklee was awarded the AZ Diamondbacks Most Valuable Teacher in STEM award sponsored by Honeywell as part of STEM Sunday. Mr. Dunklee is a Physics teacher at Maryvale.
The following Sunday, October 3 at the final game of the season Mr. Christopher Sulit (2nd from the right in the photo above) and Ms. Jennifer Manlick (6th from the right or in the middle in the photo above), were both awarded as the AZ Diamondbacks Most Valuable Teacher of STEM sponsored by Honeywell as part of STEM Sunday as well.
Mr. Sulit is a chemistry teacher at Camelback and Ms. Manlick was a Physics and Environmental Science teacher at Camelback before becoming the Professional Development Specialist at Bostrom and Desiderata. This is Ms. Manlick's second time receiving the award. She was nominated by Camelback students in April 2019 as a Most Valuable Teacher.

Receive up to $50 for eligible expenses!
First, make a purchase or participate in an activity between 9/1 and 11/15 that falls
within one of the four pillars of wellbeing. Then, complete and return a 2021
Wellness Reimbursement Form by 11/15 along with proof of payment and a description
of the activity or item that promotes a pillar of wellness. Finally, email your form and
documentation to pxuwellnessreimbursement@phoenixunion.org!
