Rise of Emotions
How did music affect people's emotions?
General Info
The Baroque Era required higher technical skill. It included flourishes, embellishment, and ornaments. There was also an increase in the need for improvisation. Music was just as important to the middle class as it was to the court.
Opera would include both vocal and instrument parts. Towards the end of the Renaissance, a new type of singing emerged. Declamatory singing fit patterns of the text.
The Baroque period of music helped create more emotion in people by adding more emotion to performing the music itself.
