Co-President's Update
Welcome back McKinley Families!
Believe it or not there are only 33 more days of school before summer break begins. Although the 2016-17 school year is nearing a close, the PTO is starting to plan for the 2017-18 school year and we want to hear from you. Look for the End of Year survey in your email inbox on Thursday. The more feedback we get, the better we can prepare!
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 1-5. Lindsay Krumsee, Robin Lane and Erin Kell have been working hard to pull together a week of recognizing the efforts of our McKinley teachers and staff. Each day will feature a special way to say thank you on behalf of all McKinley families. Room parents will contact you soon with more information about how your child's class plans to celebrate their teacher.
Have a great week - don't forget to order Topper's Pizza for dinner on Wednesday night!
Sincerely,
Brain Malloy & Lindsay Stadler

GREEN TEAM FIELD TRIP
The McKinley Green Team volunteers enjoyed a first hand look at how metal recycling happens when they toured Miller Compressing . Watching and learning the steps involved in re-using metal objects we see and use everyday made a big impact on the students and adults alike.
Very special thanks to our Green Team leaders Ms.Leigh and Ms. Daily, and to
Mr. Engbring for having us at Miller Compressing.

Angelman Syndrome Foundation Walk
Many of you may remember that last year the Lane family helped coordinate the inaugural Angelman Syndrome Foundation Wisconsin Walk-a-Thon. What you may not know is that the Wisconsin walk at Hoyt Park in Wauwatosa ended up being the LARGEST IN THE COUNTRY out of 45 sites nationwide!!
A large part of the day was the support that was received from the Mckinley community. We invite you all to walk with us again this year on May 20. Location will once again be at Hoyt Park. It is a nice, two mile loop, beginning and ending at the pool. We will have breakfast treats, a sack lunch, DJ and raffle items galore to bid on.
This is day full of hope, community and loads of smiles:) Thank you so much for being a part of Teagan’s journey.
To register online to participate in the Angelman Syndrome Foundation Wisconsin Walk-a-Thon click HERE.
Thanks!
The Lane Family
PS: You can register for Team Teagan up until walk day!
