ORMS GT Newsletter
August/September 2021
Welcome to ORMS GT!
We are so excited to be back and ready to go with a "normal" GT school year filled with advisory/Unicorn Time activities, field trips, Parent Expo and evaluations! We started the year with our GT Parent Meeting right before Open House. If you missed it, please watch the video below when you get a chance and feel free to contact your child's GT teacher if you have any specific questions about what they're doing this year in GT.

6th Grade
Personality Zoo
6th grade had Winki Smith, former educator for NBISD, come and do the personality zoo quiz with the students so they could figure out their strengths and weaknesses and how that applies to GT. (see photos below)
6th grade is also working with the website Thrively this year in order to help students find their personality traits, future career and college pathways and set goals based on their gifts and talents.

Groups
8th grade spent the beginning of the year getting to know their gifts through personality tests, group games/activities, etc. and then students were placed into the groups they're going to compete with for the remainder of the year. They also created a team shield, team motto and presented these to the class. See winning teams below.

NBISD is dedicated to providing differentiation in the classroom for your gifted child. This website is a place for teachers to get lessons, ideas and resources for their classroom. It's also a place for parents to get resources for their GT child.
