Mrs. Shaw's Weekly News
August 26th- 29th
This Week
Ahoy Mateys! We had a great first week of Kindergarten. On Monday we set sail after reading Pirates Don't Go to Kindergarten! Everyone made a pirate hat and got a new pirate name. On Tuesday, we read If You Ever Want to Bring an Alligator to School, Don't!. This story helped us talk about some classroom rules and how we want our classroom to run for the year. Wednesday we read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and did several different activities with our name and ended our day with a STEM challenge. Students had to create a tree to hold as many coconuts as it could. Finally, on Thursday we read Giraffes Can't Dance and talked about things we can't do...YET! Kindergarten is going to be great!

Reminders
- All students need a set of headphones to keep at school. Please have them in school by Tuesday. Make sure they are labeled with your child's name.
- Please send a water bottle with your child every day.
- If you haven't sent in school supplies, we could still use Clorox wipes and tissues (but are good with ziplock bags- THANK YOU!).
- School is closed Friday and Monday for the Labor Day weekend. See you on Tuesday!
