End of Year Important Information
Important End of the Year Information
May 30, 2019
Dear Site Administrators and Office Staff,
Here are a few important items as you are closing the school year. Please take time to read through these items so that you are informed.
Staff members that are leaving at the end of the year should turn in all laptops to the school office and then to the Technology Department. This is a slight change from last year, but we want all laptops prepared and ready to give to new staff on their Training Day.
An email will be going to all families participating in the Chromebook @Home program asking for their stay/move status for their Chromebook @Home equipment. All MiFi’s will be deactivated on June 15th. New MiFi’s will be distributed end of June. Families are being asked to return the Mifis (if they still have them) to the school office. You can send them back to the Technology Dept.
Technology Surplus items – should follow standard Surplus Procedures. Items should be recorded on a spreadsheet with: Asset Tag number and brief description and then submitted to Charity Hastings for board approval. After this has been approved, notify the warehouse and they can come pick it up.
Email accounts creation and deactivation:
For employees leaving the district, email accounts will be closed one week after their inactive date in Escape.
Normally, for all employees joining CVUSD, email accounts will be created 2 weeks prior to their "active" date in Escape, and only after their paperwork has been cleared by HR. For the beginning of the school year, we are changing this to 3 weeks prior, so new emails for your new teachers will be created ~July 18th.
This summer, we will be starting our big Chromebook Refresh, to replace the Acer C720 models which will entail 930 Chromebooks for Phase 1. Carts have been identified at each campus by the department techs to be swapped with new the new Lenovo 14e. All C720s coming out of carts will be processed, rated, and then sold back. We are not re-purposing them at school sites except for a rare exception.
Congratulations on wrapping up another school year. Your hard work and dedication to your school communities is appreciated!
