Hawaii Public Radio talks with UH docs on rat lungworm disease
HPR interviews Dr. Vernon Ansdell and Dr. Gerald Murphy, members of the Rat Lungworm Task Force in Hilo about their efforts dealing with Rat Lungworm Disease. NOVEMBER IS NATIONAL DIABETES MONTH
In the U.S. alone, 30.3 million people have diabetes, according statistics from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. This month, the National Institute of Diabetes & Digestive Kidney Diseases wants to raise awareness about gestational diabetes, which affects up to one in every 10 pregnancies throughout the nation. Women with a history of gestational diabetes have a lifelong risk for developing type 2 diabetes.

MD 2022 class starts relief drive for victims of Typhoon Yutu
Typhoon Yutu has recently devastated the islands of Saipan and Tinian. Typhoon Yutu is regarded as the strongest storm to ever hit U.S. soil since 1935. In perspective, the typhoon was more destructive than Hurricanes Irma, Harvey, Sandy, Michael, and Katrina. Thousands of victims are left homeless and in desperate need of basic life necessities such as water and food.
