Schoolwide Christmas Fundraiser
Our student body held its annual Christmas fundraiser to help local families in need. Each grade level competed against each other to see who could raise the most money. This year we had a coin drive that raised $3529.75!!!!! The winning classes were as follows: High School - 9th grade, Jr. High - 6th grade, Elementary - 4th and Kindergarten. All of the money was donated to the Center Point Alliance For Progress. This donation provided food for 34 local families, which included 108 children! Ms. Glenda Lackey from the Center Point Alliance For Progress was presented a check by representatives from all of the winning grade levels.

The Lady Pirates lost 54-49 in double OT to Medina last night. Leading the way for the girls were Toree Beckerson with 15 points and 5 steals, Kourtney Carmouche with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Hailey rayburn with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Jaz Gonzalez scored 7 points and Paige Ponce added 1 point along with her team leading 4 assists.
Your Pirates lost to Medina 47-27 last night as they took a step backwards. They never got untracked on the offensive end, shooting only 26% from the floor. They also turned the ball over too many times which allowed Medina to score easy layups. The bright spot of the night was that their defense was excellent.

MS Girls
The Lady Pirates played Harper on Monday, December 10th in a home contest. The girls lost to Harper but played their best game of the season. Jasmine had 4 points, Bianca had 3, and Danny had 1. Others that played were: Julia, Lilli, Andrea, Isela, Naomi, Olivia, and Briana.
MS Boys The middle school Pirates fell short in their two games against the Longhorns in Harper. Despite the outcome, the 7th grade continued to show improvement. Jonathan Castaneda led the way offensively, while Michael Heinen & Cavan Davis provided strong defense. The second half was the 8th grade team’s best half of the season, but they weren’t able to overcome a first half deficit in losing 37-13. Mauricio Gallegos led the scoring with six. Leighton Johnson added four and Misael Valadez provided a three pointer. The defense forced 20 turnovers, most coming in the second half. Quick turnaround with San Saba on Monday.
