This school year the Harvard Public Schools School Committee approved a Therapy Dog that allows students to utilize the services of a therapy dog during school hours. I am pleased to welcome Harley, a three-year-old black Labrador as The Bromfield School’s therapy dog. Mrs. Reale, School Counselor and Harley’s handler, rescued Harley from Memphis Tennessee. Together they have passed the Canine Good Citizen and Pet Partners Therapy Animal Team evaluations. They are a registered therapy team with Pet Partners. They currently volunteer to visit patients in local hospitals and hospice centers as well as area colleges.
Harley will be working with Mrs. Reale in the counseling offices at Bromfield. They will provide 1:1 service as needed as well as larger group support during stressful times of the year. Harley will wear appropriate identification stating she is a therapy dog. Understanding that some students and faculty may have an aversion or allergy to the therapy dog, Mrs. Reale will remove Harley to a separate area when there is a known concern. Contact with Harley will be strictly voluntary on the part of the students and faculty.
The above information will also be sent out to families via email, which will include an attached form if you do not want your child to have contact with Harley. You may return that form to the counseling office.
If you have any questions regarding use of a therapy dog at Bromfield, please feel free to contact Christine Reale at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Info for Seniors: Post Secondary Planning (PSP) Seminars
Mrs Lamere and Mr. Skrocki are excited to be continuing with the Post-Secondary Planning (PSP) Seminar this fall! The curriculum will be covered over the course of 5 different class times.
The purpose of this seminar is to guide you through the post-secondary planning process and provide structured time for you to work on college applications, related materials, and planning for life post-Bromfield. A major component of applying to college is making sure that the various sections of the application (which are sent separately) all arrive at the college on time. This is a detail-oriented process that we will help you coordinate and work on during class. We know that fall is a busy time of year for you all! We hope this time will help alleviate some stress.
We will be seeing all seniors during their wellness/PE classes. However, if your wellness/PE class does not meet until the second semester, we have coordinated the presentations with those students’ study halls. Please be on the lookout for a google calendar invite for the first PSP Seminar class, which will be September 12th.
All PSP Seminar classes will be taught in the library. Please be sure to bring your laptops with you!
