Cass County 4-H Friday News Blast!
May 25, 2018
The Extension Office is Closed Monday for Memorial Day
Remember to thank a veteran!
KUDOS to Joslyn and Zane
KUDOS to our Cass County 4-Hers who participated in the 2018 Southeast Regional Public Speaking Contest. It was a great event and wonderful to see these amazing youth of Nebraska 4-H at their best!
We say a big CONGRATULATIONS to:
Joslyn Stamp, who earned a purple ribbon in the Junior division for her speech "4-H and Recycling Go Hand in Hand."
Zane Rikli, who earned a purple ribbon in the senior division for his speech "From Field to Fork."
Congratulations to Joslyn and Zane - you make us proud!!!
Shooting Sports Volunteers
As you know, the 4-H shooting sports experiences only happen because of great volunteers. This includes the NATIONAL LEVEL as well. Please consider volunteering for a day or two in Grand Island, NE at the National 4-H Shooting Sports Championships. Help is needed on June 26, 27, & 28. Most positions start at 7:30 a.m., and wrap up shortly after lunch. To sign up to help, or check out different times and positions for you, your club members, and their parents, go to https://goo.gl/forms/HXZl9acOAARNbfoD2. Sign up in May to receive a volunteer t-shirt!
4-H Fashion Show Updates
Attention Fashion Show participants! Please mark your calendars! We have changed the date this year of the Cass County public fashion show to Thursday, August 9th. The fashion show will run in conjunction with the Performing Arts show, and begin at 7 pm. Judging for the Fashion Show and clothing items will still be on the Thursday before fair, on August 2nd. Please see the updated fairbook (available HERE) for further rules and details.
2018 Animal Handbook
Nebraska State 4-H publishes a handbook called "4-H Animal Exhibitor Handbook." It is loaded with information you will find helpful. Click here and take a look.
Question we hear from 4-Hers - do we have to do YQCA?
Certificates from YQCA
FYI: For 4-Hers exhibiting swine, this YQCA number is the PQA (Pork Quality Assurance) number needed in order to sell their hogs.
