Your child’s elementary school has recently partnered with Chaucie’s Place to provide Smart Steps: A Body Safety Program for Children™
Smart Steps™ is a child sexual abuse prevention and education program that teaches elementary school-aged children their bodies belong to them. They have the right to say “NO!” to touches to their private parts and to tell an adult about any touches that make them uncomfortable.
If you have any questions regarding this program and would like to learn more about the presentation please join us at Parent Night. During Parent Night, you will not only learn more about the presentation but also different ways to safeguard your child from sexual abuse.

DISMISSAL CHANGES
CRES Families,
We will be utilizing School Dismissal Manager again this year. We will begin using it officially on Monday, August 28th. This system will provide a more organized and efficient tracking system for end of day dismissals. It is intended to replace the notes, emails and phone calls to the office and/or teacher. School Dismissal Manager provides all school staff members with the instructions for dismissing your child and will be followed daily.
Between Tuesday, August 8th through Sunday, August 27th, log into the School Dismissal Manager website and change the temporary dismissal default from “To the Moon” to your child’s accurate permanent dismissal default (bus, car rider, bicycle, YMCA, etc.), please refer to the links on the top of the parent page when logged in and select Parent Preferences and Student Default.
Beginning Monday, August 28th, do not send notes/emails, only update dismissal (end of school day) instructions in School Dismissal Manager. Daily exceptions can be made prior to 2:30 pm only.
School Dismissal Manager website: https://www.schooldismissalmanager.com/
For Recurring Dismissal Instructions and additional help, please refer to the links on the top of the parent page when logged in.
Check out the School Dismissal Manager app, as well!
From our P.E. Teacher
Dear CRES families,
I want to share with you some of the exciting new ways we are making the best out of the mini-gym and giving students opportunities to become fit and healthy with both mind and body. As most of you know, the gym is not available for our students to use this year because of being occupied by classrooms during our renovation. Our PE classes are being held in a classroom so space is limited, but our creative minds are not! I have asked all students to download on their IPad a fun app called Sworkit Kids. Students and families have been coming back to me and sharing the fun they are having with this app at home. I have been creative with ways to encourage and support physical fitness and the Sworkit Kids app has been so beneficial to our students. So please make sure this app is downloaded on your child's IPad. We will be exploring and using this app throughout the year and hoping to add more apps that will encourage your child's health and fitness.
I have TWO request:
- Encourage the use of the app and participate with your child at home!
- Snap a picture of your child using the app at home and email it to dfox@hse.k12.in.us

Thanks for your support!

Response-to-Instruction (RtI)
RtI is a general education initiative designed to provide high quality instruction and interventions matches to student needs, and using learning rate over time and level of performance to make important educational decisions. The RtI model is based on a three-tiered model of service delivery with a focus on early intervention and prevention of academic and behavioral concerns. Data collected during this process provides valuable information regarding students’ educational progress and response to interventions. Students who do not demonstrate a response to well-implemented, scientifically-based interventions at the Tier 3 level would be referred for an educational evaluation to determine eligibility for special education. RtI is a component of HSE’s Child Find Process.
VOLUNTEERS/VISITORS

Once the process is complete you will receive an e-mail from Safe Visitors with your badge to check-in with our school office.
