Principal's Message

Harvey Green Community,

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. I am beyond excited to welcome students and staff back on to campus this year! As we begin the school year our focus will be on welcoming all back to campus and forming relationships. The last year and a half has impacted us all in different ways and many have dealt with some level of trauma. Please reach out to me, your child's teacher, or our school counselor if we can help in any way. Be sure to read the entire newsletter as there is a lot of important information below.

Before arriving to school each day it is essential that you complete the home-based Covid-19 daily screening. If a child or family member is exhibiting any of these symptoms, please stay home.

During these unprecedented times I know there are lots of safety concerns and questions. Please carefully look over the district page with all updates and be sure to become familiar with the Green Safety Protocols as well as the FUSD Safety Plan. Our staff is committed to doing everything we can to keep everyone safe at Green.

For the first two days of school we will one adult to walk their child to the blacktop area; however, all adults must remain outside and cannot enter the hallway or classroom. Once the class is being walked into their room we ask that you immediately leave campus. We need to avoid extra people on campus. Please use the first two days of school to help your child find their way to where you would like to meet them. Starting Friday, August 20th all parents must wait in the designated areas. At the dismissal bell parents must also wait for their students at the designated waiting areas. For Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten you will drop off and pick up your child in front of the classroom. Please wait with your child until the teacher opens the classroom door. Once the door is closed, you will need to bring your child to the office. I want to thank everyone in advance for following these arrival and dismissal procedures. A map is also provided in the Green Safety Protocols.

For lunch, we will be adding benches to our lunch area, as well as opening up the back lawn for students to eat on. This will allow students to have plenty of distance between each other while still getting to be with their peers.

Please be sure to check out the bell schedule below. The times that are showing in Infinite Campus are incorrect. Sorry for the confusion.

Communication is critical to success. Green takes advantage of multiple ways to keep our families informed. There will be a monthly newsletter that will be sent to you through email and posted on the website. Occasionally we will use an automated phone call system to remind you of important events. As we begin the new school year please make sure to read through this newsletter and all other documents that are sent home. Many questions that you may have throughout the year can be found in the monthly newsletters. The website is also a great source for information.

Green is a wonderful school with a hard working staff that wants nothing but the best for our students. We firmly believe all our students can excel and we will work hard this year to ensure each child gets a high quality education in a safe nurturing environment. With

your joint effort we know this is possible and will see all our students succeed.

Please feel free to call the office or reach out to us by email if we can assist your family in any way.

Ms. Johnson
