Early voting for the November 5th Bond Referendum continues this week through Friday, November 1st. Election Day is Tuesday, November 5th. For more information about the upcoming Bond Election and to view voting polling locations and times, please visit www.conroeisd.net/bond or www.elections.mctx.org.
On Thursday you received a "Group Me" message. If 100% of Collins staff votes by Monday afternoon - not only will there be jeans for all of November. We will enjoy one additional month of jeans. Which month you may ask... we will poll the staff and the month with the most votes will be our jeans month.
Keep encouraging family, friends, and neighbors to vote. We still have MANY folks that have no idea about the bond being on the ballot. Talk to your hair dresser, bank teller, person checking you out while shopping.
Continue to collect stickers and add them to the hearts on the boarder of our poster. If need be we will add extra room to add all of the beautiful reminders of our Civic Duty.
Very proud of you Cobras!

Counselor Updates
Colossal Cobra Ceremony
10:30 Monday, October 28 in the Library 6th grade
12:50 Tuesday, October 29 in the Library 5th grade
Please send your students down when called. I have sent the list to you to verify who you nominated.
For the month of November we are looking for students who show Gratitude...being thankful for what they have, showing appreciation for others, being happy for others’ good fortune, and choosing to have a good attitude.
Please know that if you want to see who you have nominated for an award in the past, I have moved them into their own monthly tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet that Nancy sends out.
Guidance Lessons
Thank you again to 5th and 6th Grade Science for letting me come into the classroom and do guidance lessons. Teachers, if you want to know what was discussed - we talked about taking initiative, improving and practicing responsibility and taking ownership. Students listed in their science journals things they felt like they had done this month to show responsibility.

Generation Texas Week
November 18-22, 2019
We are working to finalize our days - this is a rough draft!
PLEASE DO NOT SHARE IN LC COMMUNICATION YET.
Monday: “What’s next on the road to college?”
Wear a feeder zone school shirt or their school colors: Collins Intermediate (maroon, navy, gray), Knox Jr. High (green), and College Park High School (navy and silver).
Tuesday: “Back to your future day”
Teachers will be wearing college t-shirts and students are invited to join in the fun. Wear your favorite college t-shirt.
Wednesday: “Your Future is Bright!”-College Alternatives
We will explore jobs that require special training (technical schools, art institutes, schools for hairdressers, etc.). Wear bright colors as we celebrate “highlighting your future.”
Thursday: “Be the Best YOU Can Be!”
Another option that can help pay for college is the Military. Wear camo or military shirts as your teachers talk about options to pay for college (work study, grants, loans, scholarships) and the different service branches of military.
Friday: Career Day!
We will explore different careers as we discuss what’s ahead for our Collins Cobras. Students and teachers can dress up as their career choice, wear a tie or a scarf.
Kindness Club-- Classroom Boo!
The Kindness Club wanted to get the whole school into the Halloween spirit, so today we started 'booing' classrooms. We chose one class from each grade level and thought it would be easier if we kept the rotation going within the grade levels. Our goal is for every class to get booed by Halloween! If you were the first to be booed, the next step is to hang your sign (a picture of a GHOST) that says "We've Been Booed!" on your classroom door or window and pick a new classroom to boo. We encourage you to reuse the pumpkins that were given and fill them with treats like nut-free candy, notes of kindness, or mints for an entire class.
This is different than the faculty and staff booing! The signs for the faculty and staff have a witch and the signs for the classrooms have a ghost.
Collins Wild Cards - October
Stop The Bleed - Kits
We have been given 6 more Stop the Bleed kits for this campus for a total of 9. I wanted to make sure everyone knows where they are located:
Clinic
AED cabinet hall mall
AED cabinet gym 6th grade side
Robotics
Counselor's office
AP's office
5th grade science lab
6th grade science lab
PE coaches office
Please remember these kits are not ordinary first aid kits. They are vacuumed sealed and contain materials for severe bleeding only. They do not contain bandaids. The red pencil boxes we distributed at the beginning of the year have bandaids/gauze for every day scrapes and cuts.
