PLOT
Harry is at the quidditch world cup and dark magic arises and attacks everyone there. After that, Harry returns to Hogwarts were he discovers that there will be a TriWizard Tournament, in which three schools, Hogwarts, Durmstrang, and Beaubatons are competing in. The tournament requires on student from each school, who is 17 or older, to compete in the dangerous tasks. Three names are chosen from the Goblet of Fire (thus the title Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) and a fourth name, Harry's, is also unexpectedly chosen. Harry completed the first task, retrieving a dragon's egg from the Dragon itself, with help from his friends and teacher from Hogwarts. One teacher, Professor Moody, a previous Hogwarts student and now the dark arts teacher, was specifically helpful and trained Harry through all three tasks. On the second task, where he has to rescue a loved one from the bottom of the lake filled with "merpeople", Harry rescues Fleur's, a young girl competitor from Beaubaton's, little sister and gains their trust. In the third task, a foliage maze filled with dangerous and magical creatures, Harry and Cedric (another competitor and good friend) finished at the same exact time and they teleported to a graveyard where Voldemort, Harry's sworn enemy is reborn and rises. Voldemort kills Cedric and Harry barely gets away. After getting away and winning the tournament, Harry meets up with Professor Moody and Moody reveals his secret. He actually isn't Professor Moody, he is Barty Crouche's son. Barty Crouche was a judge for the tournament and the minister of magic. Barty went missing right after the second task. In his much earlier years he arrested this son because he was working with Voldemort in dark magic. His son, who was pretending to be Professor Moody, was hurting Harry and his father in return. The other Hogwarts professors attack Barty Crouche Jr. and imprison him again. It ends as all the Harry Potter books do, with Harry going back to the Dursley's for the summer and all is well.
CLIMAX
The climax of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is when Harry and Cedric are transported to the graveyard and Voldemort rises again.
RESOLUTION
The resolution of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is when Harry and his Hogwarts professors discover Barty Crouche Jr. and send him back to Azkaban, a wizard prison.
MY FAVOURITE PART
My favourite part is when we discover Ron, Harry's best friend, likes Hermione, Harry's other best friend, at the Yule Ball. It is my favourite because it is cute and Ron gets jealous over Hermione going with Viktor Krum.
MY LEAST FAVOURITE PART
My last favourite part is when Cedric died at the cemetery because it was very sad, he was very cute, and he was one of Harry's close friends who helped him through every task off the TriWizard Tournament.
MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER
My favourite character is Charlie Wesley because he works with dragons and helped Harry a lot on the first task.
MY LEAST FAVOURITE CHARACTER
My least favourite character is Viktor Krum because he is cocky, conceited, and ungrateful.
THEME
The theme of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is that selflessness and perseverance are the keys to everything.
THEME EXAMPLE 1
"Cedric looked around just in time to hurl himself past the thing and avoid colliding with it, but in his haste, he tripped. Harry saw Cedric's wand fly out if his hand as a gigantic spider stepped into the path and began to bear down upon Cedric,
'Stupefy!' Harry yelled" (Rowling 631)...
SIGNIFICANCE: When Cedric was in major need of help, Harry was there for him selflessly risking his life for him.
THEME EXAMPLE 2
"Harry darted forward and began to back at the ropes binding the small girl to the statue, and at last she was free. He seized the little girl around the wausf, grabbed the neck of Ron's robes, and kicked off the bottom" (Rowling 501).
SIGNIFICANCE: Harry persevered and saves both Fleur's sister's life and Ron's, despite breaking the rules and nearly drowning.
