I speak for all our students, teachers, and staff when I say that your faith and trust in the El Monte City School District was paramount in helping us successfully navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Distance Learning, reopening, and so much more. Congratulations to our American Legion School Award Winners Each year, two promoting students from each El Monte City K-8 school are recognized as American Legion School Award winners. The American Legion School Award is considered one of the highest honors a middle school student can earn. Students who receive the award are recognized for more than just academic achievement, they are recognized for showcasing six qualities that define their amazing character: courage, honor, leadership, patriotism, scholarship, and service. | Official 2021-2022 El Monte City School District Calendar Please click image above to view the official 2021-2022 calendar for the El Monte City School District. EMCSD Recognizes June as Pride Month
Starting June 8, El Monte City School District will be providing free meals for kids 18 & under throughout the summer. We can provide one meal kit per child per week. No ID is required, but please wear a face covering when picking up meals. For any questions or concerns, please contact the Child Nutrition Department at 626-453-3733. EMCSD COVID-19 Vaccine Workshop
Join us for an overview of the latest information concerning COVID-19 Vaccines and how they are currently being used: How the vaccines were developed? What type of side effects should I expect? What happens once I am vaccinated?
When: Tuesday, June 22 from 5pm - 6pm
Presenter: COVID-19 Dr. Jack Chou is a board-certified family medicine physician and a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Chou is the Chief of Service for the Family Medicine Department at Kaiser Baldwin Park Medical Center and has been in practice since 1999.

City of El Monte 2021 Summer Parks & Rec Programs for Kids!
Jungle Rain Storm - Water Day Activities Mondays 3pm - 6pm (weather permitting). Open to children and the Young at Heart. Bring your towel and swing over to one of your local parks listed below and get ready to get wet! First 50 children at each park receive a free hot dog, chips, and drink! Emergency card and COVID-19 waiver will be required to be on file prior to event. June 21: Lambert Park June 28: Gibson Mariposa Park July 6 (Tuesday): Mt. View Park July 12: Zamora Park July 19: Arceo Park | Chalk It Up - Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest Wednesdays - 3:00pm check-in. Open to youth ages 7-17 , limited sign ups! If you like to explore through art, we have an adventure for you. Go to one of your local parks listed below and sign up for Chalk It Up! Pandemic-EBT Benefits Will Continue
Children eligible for P-EBT extension benefits:
- Previously received P-EBT benefits for the 2019-20 school year;
- Are attending a California K-12 school for the 2020-21 school year; and
- Are assumed to be attending school virtually or via a hybrid model of virtual and in-person instruction for the 2020-21 school year.
If you have questions about your P-EBT benefits, call the P-EBT Helpline at (877) 328-9677.
Get Discounted Internet Services!
The FCC would like to remind you that enrollment in the Emergency Broadband Benefit begins tomorrow, Wednesday, May 12, 2021. There are three ways eligible households can enroll:
- Directly with a local participating provider. The FCC maintains a list of participating providers, sorted by state and territory.
- Enroll online with the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) at their website www.getemergencybroadband.org. (The enrollment button will not be live until May 12th).
- Or download a paper application at the www.getemergencybroadband.org site, fill out the application, and mail it – along with supporting documentation – to USAC.
