Positive Teacher Pledge
POSITIVE TEACHER PLEDGE
I pledge to be a positive teacher/administrator and positive influence on my fellow educators, students and school.
· I promise to be positively contagious and share more smiles, laughter, encouragement and joy with those around me.
· I vow to stay positive in the face of negativity.
· When I am surrounded by pessimism, I will choose optimism.
· When I feel fear, I will choose faith.
· When I want to hate, I will choose love.
· When I want to be bitter, I will choose to get better.
· When I experience a challenge, I will look for opportunity to learn and grow and help others to grow.
· When faced with adversity, I will find strength.
· When I experience a set-back, I will be resilient.
· When I meet failure, I will fail forward and create a future success.
· With vision, hope and faith, I will never give up and will always find ways to make a difference.
· I believe my best days are ahead of me, not behind me.
· I believe I’m here for a reason and my purpose is greater than my challenges.
· I believe that being positive not only makes me better, it makes my student better.
So today and every day, I will be positive and strive to make a positive impact on my students, my school and the world!

Educator Effectiveness’ Guide to “Getting the Most from Online Professional Development”
Self-paced professional development doesn’t have to be done alone.
If you’re looking for ways to use online professional development more collaboratively, look no further. The modules in the Home Base Professional Development System are designed to allow districts to implement them in the way that best suits their resources, calendars, and professional development implementation plans.
Educator Effectiveness’ newly updated online guide, “Getting the Most from Online PD” describes six different models for implementation at the district level, including best practices and facilitation strategies. The guide is available online at http://rt3nc.org/pubs/impguide/.New Online Professional Development Modules from NCDPI: Check out these new titles.

TBI Cultural Exchange
TBI Cultural Exchange the long term TBI Cultural Exchange is up and running. The students are very excited and happy to be here attending school at I-SS in Lake Norman High and South Iredell High.
- Linked is the first newsletter from TBI about the summer exchange that happened this past summer. The two week exchange in both the winter and the summer are opportunities for students to have a taste of the culture offered abroad. This is an entry opportunity for those students from China to explore the opportunities that we can offer if they were to attend the long term program.

Twitter Hashtags
You’ve seen it when you visit Twitter – a million and one different hashtags are used every day. Some are actually helpful when you are trying to search for important things like #GOPDebate or #NationalCatDay. Some of them are #completelymadeupandridiculous, either on accident or on purpose.
But one thing is clear – when you use hashtags strategically, you can join popular conversations and strengthen the impact of your tweets. Some best practices when using hashtags include:
- If you are wondering if others are using a certain keyword for a hashtag, simply enter it into the Twitter search function with the # before it and see what it pulls up.
- Clicking on a hashtagged word in any message will show you all other Tweets using that keyword.
- Hashtags can occur anywhere in the Tweet – at the beginning, middle or end.
- Don’t use too many hashtags. Three is plenty for one tweet – otherwise it gets too hard to read.
- Hashtagged words that become very popular often become Trending Topics (that’s a whole blog post on its own)
