Principal's Message to Hornet Families for the week of March 28th 2021

Happy Sunday fantastic family members,

I hope everyone was able to enjoy the first week back from Spring Break and a restful weekend. I would like to give a special thank you to all of the community members and faculty members who were present at last week's BTO/staffing update. We saw over 100 guests at Thursday's meeting! I also want to to thank all of the family members, teachers, administrators, and community members collectively who took a moment to share your stakeholder engagement jam board with me. Meeting with all department chairs, departments, our administrative team, CAC, PTA, and opening the door for Individual staff meetings has given me a great idea of priorities, questions, and concerns to factor in our decision making for next years BTO and staffing allocations. We are now just awaiting our final rounds of choice sheets to identify campus needs. We are confident we will be able to maintain our high levels of academic rigor and wide array of electives and offerings to our scholars. We anticipate completion by Thursday April 1st. Below are a few preliminary ideas and updates we have thus far in the process. This upcoming Saturday we will have our math placement test for incoming scholars. Please contact Mr. Estes (timothy.estes@austinisd.org) if your scholar has scheduling conflicts with this date.

Please help us prepare for testing season this year by completing this survey to let us know if your scholar will be STAAR Testing this Spring semester so we can plan the most safe and effective testing environment for our scholars.
