HORIZON ELEMENTARY
Home of the Red-Tailed Hawks
APRIL 2021
Hello Horizon Families,
We enter the 4th quarter on April 6, and we are looking forward to having more students back in the building together beginning Thursday, April 15. Our drop off time (8:10am-8:20am) will remain the same for the remainder of this school year. Door 2 will open at 8:10am. We will continue sending students straight to their cubbies and classrooms where they drop off their supplies and enter their rooms.
Our end-of-the-day pick up at 3:18pm each day will also continue the same way. We may be a bit slower on our first couple of days, but we will work hard to be efficient and safe.
Again, our parents have been spectacular! Thank you! You are getting kids to school on time and picking up on time. We appreciate this very much!
Looking forward to a wonderful 4th quarter with our students!
Sincerely,
Michelle Kelly
Principal

SCO - Parent group
Support the Horizon SCO by picking up pizza at the Sun Prairie Little Caesars on Wednesday, April 21st from 4pm to 8pm. 20% of the proceeds will be donated to the SCO and used to support our teachers and students, so don't forget to order some pizza! No need to mention Horizon - ALL SALES will count towards their donation. Order online to save time!
Our next SCO Meeting will be Tuesday, April 13th at 6pm via Zoom. Here is the link to join the meeting. Stephanie Leonard-Witte, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning and Equity, will be speaking to our group about curriculum. Please send any questions in advance to Karen at president@horizonsco.org. The agenda and previous minutes will be posted on the Horizon School website.
SCO Officers Needed! Have you ever thought about being more involved in the SCO? We are looking for people who are interested in being an officer on the board. All positions are up for election every year; nomination forms are due by the end of the meeting on April 13th. Not sure what being an officer entails? Reach out to Karen at president@horizonsco.org or any of the current officers.
Use Scrip gift cards to buy gas, groceries, and everything else you're already buying, all while raising money for the Horizon SCO. They also make great gift cards for the end of the school year and graduation! Contact Keri Jo at fundraiser@horizonsco.org for more information and to request our enrollment code to sign up at ShopWithScrip.com. This is one of the few ways we have been able to fundraise this year, so your participation is appreciated.
