Pre-K 2's Weekly Review
What We Have Learned
Last week we continued to explore Our Solar System and the planets in their in order of their distance from the Sun. We discussed what we thought we would need to live on other planets and what we would like to take with us. We agreed to pack food, water, oxygen, crayons, Legos and I Pads. We listened to and shared our thoughts on the Bible story of Jesus healing the blind man by putting mud on his face. This lead to sweet acts of kindness from the class when one student bumped their leg and were given a week's supply of wet towel to "heal" them :) We rounded up our week learning about St. Patrick and the belief that he used the three leaf Shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity.
Letter Zz and Numbers 1-20 Spotlight
We practiced making the letter Zz on our art easels. We went on a hunt for it on signs and flyers in the school. We brainstormed and made up words that have letter Zz in them.
We played a number matching game and practiced counting and ordering the numbers 1-6. We used the links in our Math center to create different size chains and counted up to 36.
