4th graders perform "Dig It"

The 4th grade students, under the direction of Music Teacher Mrs. Przybylowski, performed "Dig It," this past week. Dig It! is a musical tale of ancient civilizations and was written by John Jacobson and Roger Emerson. Students performs hits like So Long Ago, The Land Between Two Rivers, In My Tomb, Empires of the East, Greece is the Word, Toga Party Tonight, and Here's to the Future. We would like to congratulate all of the 4th grade performers and ensemble members. Most importantly, we would like to thank Mrs. Przybylowski, Mr. Shapiro, and the 4th grade teachers for their support.

PSSA Testing- 3/4 grade ELA testing this week

Dear Families of Third/Fourth Grade Students:

The testing window for this year’s Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) is scheduled from April 11th to April 29th. The Cheltenham Elementary testing schedule is as follows:

Week of April 11th (3rd and 4th grade)

4/12 Tuesday ELA (English Language Arts)

4/13 Wednesday ELA (English Language Arts)

4/14 Thursday ELA (English Language Arts)

4/15 Friday ELA (English Language Arts)

As you may already know, the PSSA measures student performance over several days and the results may be used to make curricular and placement decisions. Therefore, it is important that students are as prepared as possible. We encourage them to get plenty of rest the night before each test and eat a good breakfast. Also, we ask that students arrive on time (by 9:00 AM) since approximately an hour and a half in the morning will be allocated for testing. Students that arrive to school late during the testing times will be required to wait in the office until the test is completed. Even though make-up days have been scheduled, we encourage the students to take the assessments on the allotted days.

The 3rd grade students will test from 9:10am-10:30am and the 4th grade students will test from 10:40am-12:30pm.

Request for Parent feedback on enVision math program

enVision Math Parent Survey

As part of our ongoing effort to support parents, students, and teachers in understanding and using the district’s math program, we would like all parents of K-6 students to respond to a very brief survey:

This will take only a few minutes of your time, and your responses will help us to plan improvements to the curriculum and resources in the future. If you have additional feedback or questions about the survey or the enVision math program, please contact Gerald Aungst at gaungst@cheltenham.org or 215-881-6327.

Support our Food Drive!

Our annual food drive for the Berachah Food Pantry is coming to an end. Our last collection day will be April 29. Last year we collected over 1,000 food items. Our goal is to collect the same amount of items by the end of the month. With your help, kindness, and generosity we can match or surpass the amount of food items collected last year. This is a great opportunity to teach our students civic responsibility and strengthen our community. It is also a time for us to give thanks for our blessings and share with those who truly need our help. Thank you in advance for your continued support and generosity. CES is a community that cares.
