Reminders from the PTO
If you are interested in attending our Playground Family Get Together next week, Thursday, September 22nd from 5-7, please send in your RSVPs by Friday, Sept 16th. Walk-ups will be welcomed but we would like to get a general idea of how many people plan to attend to make sure we have enough pizza and cookies for everyone! If you can't find your sheet, you can also email your RSVP to springroadpto@gmail.com. This event is weather dependent. If we have inclement weather, it will not be rescheduled. Hope to see you there!
Also, if you are interested in becoming a Room Rep for your student's classroom, a reminder there will be a meeting on Thursday, September 15th at 6:30 in the Spring Road Library. If you are not sure but would like to learn more, please come and talk to our volunteers to learn about what it involves. If you have questions you can reach out to our Room Rep Co-Chairs Jenni Oeftger (jennit@uwalumni.com) or Laura Taylor (lkeppie22@yahoo.com).
Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Award Nominations
Please consider nominating an educator that has made a difference in your child's life. Nominations of Wisconsin PK through 12 teachers and principals can now be submitted online at www.kohleducation.org for the 2022 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation teacher Fellowship and principal Leadership awards. The deadline for submission is Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. central time. Awards are $6,000, with an additional $6,000 grant going to the school of each selected teacher and principal. Established in 1990, the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation awards 100 Fellowships and 16 Leadership awards annually from among all applicants throughout the state.
For teachers or principals to be eligible, they must be nominated by a parent, student, other teacher, community member, or school administrator. Wisconsin teachers and principals in grades PK through 12 who plan to continue in their current capacity for at least one year are eligible. The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Fellowship rewards teachers who have demonstrated superior ability to inspire love of learning in their students, have motivated others, and have provided meritorious service both in and outside the classroom. It also recognizes and supports principals who demonstrate administrative leadership and positively influence school culture.

Counseling at Spring Road
Are you interested in your child receiving mental health counseling at your school?
Us2 Behavioral Health has partnered with NJSD to provide mental health counseling at [your school name]. The Us2 therapists provide mental health counseling to children who are experiencing any number of issues including anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, grief & loss, family issues, ADHD, and trauma.
Providing therapy at school has been found to increase the time students are in class learning while also allowing caregivers to spend less time taking their child away from school to drive them to counseling appointments.
If you are interested in scheduling an appointment for mental health counseling for your child at Spring Road, please contact Mrs. Mielke (pmielke@neenah.k12.wi.us) or call Us2 Behavioral Health Care at (920) 903-1060
