The Westmoreland Wrap Up

Week of Respect 2023
Students wore GOLD or YELLOW to represent the Golden Rule and became "detectives" searching for clues around our building, deciding whether or not these scenarios were examples of the Golden Rule.
Students continued this detective work by hunting for examples of respect on our playground, in our classrooms, hallways and cafeteria and left secret notes of positivity and encouragement for neighboring classrooms.
We ended the week showing our school pride! It was an AWESOME week!
The GoodWill Ambassadors 1st Mission! SOCK-TOBER
Mrs. Dell'Aglio's first read aloud of the year
This story reminded students of the importance of THINKING before we speak. We discussed how each individual's words have POWER! They can be used to build people up or break them down. We used the metaphor from the book about how our words are either like sugar or pepper. They can leave a person with either a sweet or bitter feeling.
Ask your student to share what they've learned from this story!

Tree Planting Ceremony
Last Sunday was a gorgeous day for planting trees at Westmoreland School. There was a great turn out of families, green team members, community members and girl scouts! We are so honored to be the recipient of two new Oak trees that will provide beautiful shade in the future for all to enjoy!
