Be Bold. Be Courageous. Be the Change! Be a Roadrunner!
A note from Ms. González
Hello Roadrunner Families,
We are now in the homestretch. It's hard to believe we're here...only nine school days left in this academic year. The end of the year brings lots of activity and excitement as we approach the last day of school, June 2nd (Early Release @11:30). We will continue to maximize instruction until the very last day.
I want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for partnering with our school in support of your child/children's learning. To our fifth-grade parents, I wish our students and you the very best as they move forward and onto experience middle school. To our returning parents, we will continue to keep you updated over the summer. I encourage you to keep our students learning through their summer experiences and reading. Enjoy the summer break making many wonderful family memories! You are all appreciated.
The following are some important reminders.
- Summer Slide - Parent engagement presentation and free resources. We invite you to join us either at 8 am or 3 pm on May 24. Keep your child learning and engaged over the summer break to avoid the summer slide.
- End-of-Year Award Celebrations - begin this week. Please review the award assembly protocol below.
- Home Access Center - YISD offers the parent portal for you to stay updated with student grades. It is available 24/7.
- Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year is underway! Please re-enroll your child(ren) by clicking this link: YISD Enrollment. Students who enroll earn free dress for the rest of this school year.

Book of the Month
Ask your child about the book of the month.
The book of the month is shared in all classrooms throughout the month providing everyone in school with a shared literacy experience. Students respond to the book and responses are posted along our main hallway. The book of the month helps build a community of readers and writers.
