Wendy's News
The hustle and bustle of the holidays can be overwhelming for both students and staff. I hope you are able to balance all the things that are tugging at your time to find peace in your life. Take care of yourself and give yourself some grace. The holiday season is a wonderful time of year to count your blessings and to show appreciation for the people in your life. I am now midway through my second year at Kincaid, and I am happy to be a part of this caring community. You each put a smile on my face when I get to visit your classrooms to see the work you do for our kids. You teach kindness, patience, and hope by your actions. Thank you for creating the kind of school that others envy. I’m proud to be a part of this community!

Math Survey: As part of the Math K-8 Curriculum Review process, teachers are being asked to complete a readiness survey. Please share this information with all K-8 Math Teachers.

TEACHING & LEARNING
Instructional Coach Newsletter
The December 2 Instructional Coach Insights Newsletter is available online for principals’ information.
ELA Series B, Session B9 Training
Instructional Coaches have been asked to provide the B9 session training on Summarizing to their 4th and 5th grade teachers only. This 2-hour training needs to be completed by the end of January. For this training, each 4th and 5th grade teacher will receive a half-day of release time. Because this training should only take 2 hours, the additional time for the half-day can be utilized for additional support with Exit Tickets, comprehension strategies, or lesson planning. Please consult with instructional coaches to review the need and plan the specific additional professional learning support during this training time. Also, the coaches have been asked to respond to a google survey as to how many substitutes are needed for the building’s 4th and 5th grade teachers to fulfill this training. If there are any questions, please email Dianne Orr at orr_dianne@asdk12.org.
