Phoenix Family,

Our Class of 2021 are letting the community know they are graduating this year! Yard signs were delivered on Friday by CA staff! Congratulations to all seniors, as the month of May is all about celebrating you! Seniors and parents we look forward to our Senior Awards celebration in the back parking lot on Monday, May 17 at 6pm! CA graduation will be May 19 at 8pm at Mustang/Panther Stadium. No tickets required.

This Thursday we will be celebrating our underclassmen awards during Pathways! I am beyond proud of our students and all they have achieved during the most difficult educational time in their life! #PhoenixStrong!

Thank you Phoenix Families for the outpouring of appreciation this week! Breakfast, snacks, Sonic drinks, homemade enchiladas, and ending with a pizza party! The faculty and staff at CA are so grateful for you and all you do to support Collegiate Academy! THANK YOU!

Always grateful,

Registration WAS LAST MONDAY

At this point we have roughly 80% of our students enrolled in their fall college classes. If your student is not currently enrolled in their classes we need them to do that this week so that we can get everything updated in skyward.

  • If your student has a meningitis vaccination hold, they will need to send an updated record to Nurse Toni, but in the meantime they can fill out this waiver and send that to Mr. Cavanagh so that we can get the hold lifted and the student can sign up for their classes https://corequestjc.dshs.texas.gov/

  • If your student has a hold that says they have not met the pre-requisites for the class they’re trying to sign up for, they need to reach out to Mrs. Haney so that we can get their TSI statuses updated in the system and they can sign up for their classes

  • If your student has any other sort of hold please have them reach out to Mr. Cavanagh so that he can help solve whatever problem they have moving forward.

Senior Edgenuity

If you’re reading this Phoenix News on Sunday, May 9th, then we will be having graduation in 10 Days. That being said, the last day that we have to turn in edgenuity is TOMORROW (MONDAY, MAY 10TH). If your student has not completed their edgenuity by tomorrow they will be REQUIRED TO BE PRESENT AT THE SCHOOL ALL OF THIS WEEK IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN ANY CHANCE OF WALKING WITH THEIR GRADUATING CLASS.

Senior Volunteer Hours

If you’re a senior we mentioned earlier this school year that the required number of hours to earn the volunteer cord was going to be dropped from 100 to 80 hours. If that is still something that you’re interested in we need ALL hours turned in to me by Tomorrow, May 10th in order for them to be counted towards the cord. If you have any questions please let me know.

FROM THE NURSE

COVID-19 causes symptoms that are similar to many common illnesses, and people are infectious before they even have symptoms. So, in the case that someone in your household is displaying symptoms of illness, we ask that all of your children, as potential Close Contacts, stay home until a diagnosis is confirmed. Remember, a Close Contact is a person who is within six feet of you for 15 minutes or more, as would be common within your home.

If someone in your house is ill, then everyone has likely been exposed to the virus. Again, your campus nurse is ready to discuss with you about the specifics of your family situation and make the proper recommendations.
