Recently, we had LCP election in UTP whereby the two brave candidates Ratana Shangkari and Govinash Visvanathan, were selected and stood in front of the plenary hall on Saturday (7/2/2015), pitching their ideas and thoughts as to why they deserve our vote of confidence to be the next Local Committee President of AIESEC in UTP.

Consequently they both were selected by getting majority votes and proceeded to next stage.. After almost 2 weeks of application, 5 hours elections and 4 hours of interview, Ms Ratana Shangkari was announced as the Local Committee President Elect of AIESEC in UTP for term 2015/2016.

Apart from setting history as the first female president of AIESEC in UTP, Ratana has showcased her purpose and motivation to lead this amazing, crazy and diverse Local Committee to greater heights. Apart from that, huge credit must be mentioned as well to the other candidate, Govinash Visvanathan, who provided a strong fight for the candidacy. But eventually there could only one person who would be selected to ascend to the top. Once again, congratulation to Ratana Shangkari!

MyLDS 2015

The annual AIESEC national conference MyLDS 2015 was back with the team “United we dream, together we fight” which was held at Univeristi Putra Malaysia from 21st to 26th January 2015. A total of 46 delegates from LCUTP went for this inspiring conference and had their wonderful memories there. They had crazy and also serious moments in the conference where they had found their relevance towards AIESEC better, build up their leadership skills, made new friends, and most importantly stepped up their comfort zone and bring their learning experience in AIESEC to another level. The 6-days conference was worth the experience and also nurtured leaders for AIESEC in UTP. UTP Hoohaa!

GLOBAL VILLAGE

Global Village came back with a BOOOOOOOM! Exchange Participants from China and Vietnam displayed their very unique culture of their countries to our UTP students. The Exchange Participants promoted their country and cultures together with our AIESECers too. Exchange Participants did their best in decorating the global village booths. The booth came out to be magnificent. Our curious UTP students spent time exploring what AIESEC really means and how the other's cultures are. At the end of the day, new experiences and memories were gained by the exchange participants, UTP students and our UTP AIESECers too.
