RMS Wildcat Weekly
January 22nd, 2021 Information for our Families
Greetings Wildcat Families!
I hope you all had a great week and that your students are working hard to end the semester on a strong note. I have been so proud to see so many of them focusing on their goals and showing improvement in their academics and attendance. Please remember that they have a three-day weekend since there is no school on Monday, January 25, as it is a non-student/non-staff day in our Vista Unified calendar. I hope they take the time to get caught up on any missing assignments since the end of the semester is Friday, January 29. Counselors are finalizing schedule changes based on requested learning model changes, and they will be emailing new schedules to students prior to 2/1.
Please review the important announcements and updates below! We have shared information about our upcoming picture day on Thursday, January 28, change of date for our upcoming Coffee with the Principal (now scheduled for February 4), our Little Cakes Band fundraiser, high school info for 8th graders, and an awesome opportunity to get a free recognition ad in this year's 2021 RMS yearbook.
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration. Be well!
Sincerely,
Heather Golly
RMS School Yearbook Picture Day
RMS DRIVE THRU School Yearbook Picture Day is this coming Thursday, January 28th. Please see the below schedule for your student’s grade level. If you have more than one student, you may come during either of their time slots.Teachers will not mark students absent if they are going to take their pictures during class time. They will communicate expectations with their students so they know what they need to do in Canvas or Zoom.
6th Grade: 8:30am - 10:30am
7th Grade: 11:00am - 1pm
8th Grade: 1:30pm - 3:30pm
For those families affected by COVID-19 who are not able to make it to picture day, we are working on different options to still have your student featured in this year's yearbook! Please DO NOT bring your student to picture day if they are feeling ill or are displaying any signs of illness. Temperature checks will be done at each car before the student exits the car. Parents will stay in the cars and only students will exit for pictures.
A reminder, as well as more details regarding picture day, will be sent out on Tuesday of next week.
2nd Semester Math Packets for 6th and 7th grade Students will be distributed on January 28th during Yearbook Pictures. 7th graders will also be picking up their next novel The Outsiders. This will be the only distribution day for math packets so students must attend picture day in order to receive their packets. If your student or someone in your family is affected by COVID-19 or any other illness, please contact Maidhya Mora @ 760 726-8003 to make an appointment to pick up your math packet.
Semester 1 is coming to an end
Semester 2 of 2020-21 for middle schools begins on February 1st, 2021.
