Prestwick Proud: TEA Releases School Accountability Ratings
Thank you to our dedicated staff for helping students grow and reach their potential! Most importantly our parents came along side us, committed to helping students in any ways necessary and also contributed greatly to this process.
TOGETHER we achieved this A rating and earned the distinction for Closing Achievement Gaps. For more information read here.

Prestwick LEarns - Week one was GREAT one!
Thank you to parents and important people who also did a great job in our traffic lines in the morning and afternoon which take a few days to start running smoothly. Your cooperation shaved 10 minutes off our pm car line between day one and day two. We even received a compliment on day two which is always appreciated.
A few important reminders as we start week two:
1. Stay plugged in to communication - our partnership is key. We have a variety of channels from the Prestwick Profile newsletter to grade level faceboook pages (see links below) to our twitter page and our website. We know there are many options and this intentional to serve a variety of formats families use. Choose one and you will get the information you need! If at any time you have questions please ask us- we are here to serve and help!
2. Parents dropping off in the morning who wish to walk their student to class will begin reporting to the office to get their visitor badge. This is for the safety of each of students. Please allow yourself some time to check in and still allow your student to get to class on time at 8:05 am.
3. Parents are welcome to join for lunch as well. You will also check in to the office. Please see our flyer below about important reminders when joining us in the cafe.
4. Every minute of class time is important so please set a morning routine that allows your child to be in class and ready to learn at 8:05 am. Punctuality is a life skill that transfers from school to the work place. One of the number one stressors for students is arriving late and feeling like they are scrambling to catch up to others. Our doors and supervision for students begins at 7:45 am.
We look forward to a great second week and year!

Staff Spotlight: Jessica Denton
One of our traditions at Prestwick STEM Academy it to feature one of our amazing staff members This week we are putting a spotlight on Mrs. Denton, one of our new staff members at Prestwick. She joins us as a member of the first grade team. Here is what she has to say about herself:
Hello Prestwick FamiLE!!
My name is Jessica Denton and I am so excited to be part of the Lobo FamiLE this year! I grew up in Southern California and graduated from California State University, Northridge where I received my Bachelors in Deaf Studies. I moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma shortly after and started my family. My husband Shawn and I have two children Emily and Ryan and they too are part of this GREAT LOBO famiLE! While in Oklahoma, I taught Deaf Ed, Kinder, 1st and 2nd grades for Broken Arrow Public Schools. Three years ago my family decided to move to this wonderful little town of Little Elm and we are enjoying every minute, whether it is boating, fishing, scouting, sporting events or just being together. During the past three years, I had the opportunity to teach Kindergartners and 4th graders. This will be my 11th year as an educator and I look forward to another great year with my NEW Prestwick famiLE!
