December 4, 2015
SMS 7th grade Cool Ray Breanna Brown is starting cancer treatments and it is time for us to join together to provide love and support for Bree and her family. Here are three things that Warriors can do. 1) Remember Bree and her family in your prayers. 2) Participate in giving activities as you can. We will have different opportunities for you to donate. 3) Participate in connecting activities as you can. We're also planning several ways to communicate with Bree and keep us all connected during this health battle.
Let's battle, Warriors!
Christmas Break? iPads?
All SMS students should be ready to surrender their devices for Christmas break. The SCSD2 Tech Department will be updating iPads to prepare them for the spring 2016 ISTEP+ exam. iPads will be collected during Connect on Friday, December 18th. If you are not going to be at school on the 18th, you'll need to turn in your iPad BEFORE that day. We will not be collecting chargers/cords. Only iPads. To help the tech crew (Santa, Rudolph, Frosty, and the Grinch), please make sure your iPad is fully charged and that the screen is clean. Thanks!
Riley Tree Challenge
The SMS Student Council is inviting everyone to participate in this year's Riley fundraiser. Starting December 8th and ending December 10th we will be decorating a Riley tree in the main hall. Bring in donations and get an ornament placed on the tree for every dollar you are able to give. To make this interesting, each team will be getting different colors of ornaments. The team with the most ornaments on the tree on December 10th will win a "cool" prize. The council's goal is to raise $500. Statewide donations are being matched by the French Lick Casino and Hotels so let's join in and donate to Riley Children's Hospital!
