Big picture

Dear Families,

We hope that you are enjoying the beautiful weather and have found some time to relax with the kids. We want you to know that we are committed to making this year feel as normal as possible while navigating the challenges of the world around us. With that being said, we had to make some quick decisions to get Ipads set up and in the hands of every student by the end of last week due to the information that was shared at the Board of Education meeting. We had all hands on deck and it was a time consuming process to get all 344 devices set up and ready. Our goal is to have our students in school 5 days a week but if we are faced with an emergency, your child now has a device in hand. Please be sure the Ipad is in your child's backpack on a daily basis because it will be used in the classroom to supplement instruction. Our technology team will continue to finish what they were not able to accomplish last week. This includes troubleshooting log-in issues and cleaning devices. More chargers are being ordered so if you only received one per family, you will get one for each child once the order comes in. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we are committed to find solutions to the everchanging world we are living in.

On Wednesday, September 22nd, we will be holding an Open House. This will be a time to tour the building and meet our entire staff. Times will be staggered alphabetically.

A-F~ 5:30-6:00

G- O ~6:15-6:45

P-Z ~7:00-7:30

This night is for students and parents. To keep our numbers lower, one adult is invited with each child. If you have one child and both wish to attend, you will be given information when you check in at the main entrance. Please adhere to your time so that we can keep the numbers as low as possible. Masks are required for everyone in attendance.

Open House

Wednesday, Sep. 22nd, 5:30-7:30pm

68 North Maple Street

Enfield, CT

This event is for parents and students. Come meet the entire staff at HMS and tour the building.

Afternoon transportation changes

Please keep your child's transportation plan as consistent as possible. If you are changing how your child will be going home on a certain day, the office needs to hear from you before 12:00. This allows sufficient time for the secretary to check voicemails and communicate with the classroom teacher.
