How has Christian music changed over time? and why??
Over time religious music has changed to fit the social norms. Christian music first got its start when the Israelites escaped Egypt by crossing the Red Sea. At this time, singing was apart of their formal worship in the temple, as well as a way of cleansing the soul.
Religious music was originally used for the congregation to sit and listen to and not to take part in as compared to today in church services. At first, it was very orchestral and hymns, now it has changed to a mix in between the two.
Sometimes religious music is very classical, other times it is more like the soft rock or pop culture.
Christian music is music that has been written to express either personal or a communal belief regarding Christian life and faith. Common themes of Christian music include praise, worship, penitence, and lament, and its forms vary widely across the world
