Salmon's Week 12 Update
November 16th-24th
Thank Your For Coming!!
Overview
Reading - We finished up The Man Who Named the Clouds and will be reading about pirates next week. Our reading taught us how to name and identify the clouds in the sky. The week after break we will be reading Adeline's Whale which focuses on fact/opinion.
Writing - We finished up the research for our National Parks Expository Writing Paper. The week after break we will begin writing out papers about our national parks. So students have asked if they may type their papers, the answer is resounding "YES"! They just need to bring their paper in for the editing process and take it home to make changes if necessary.
Please remember that the students will need a "Tri-Fold" Presentation Board for their poster. You may want to start purchasing those any time. They do not need to bring them in until it is completed. All posters are due Monday, December 19th.
Science - The very short unit on animals will lead us into the study of simple machines for the month of December.
Social Studies - Our study of the Southeast will wrap up and we will focus on the civil war and civil rights moment.
