NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL...
Tomorrow is the last day for students to claim their lost items. Items were folded and spread out along the stage, and several jackets, water bottles, etc were claimed. We were able to return other items that were labeled with students' names (thank you for doing that). Please remind your child(ren) to check the cafeteria tomorrow as unclaimed items will be donated to charity.
Fifth graders return from Fort Bragg tomorrow. As soon as we finish paying the bills associated with this year's trip, we will contact fourth grade parents to start planning for next year's trip. An upcoming fundraiser is the bake sale during the Starstruck performances. We need two to four parents to organize this event including getting donations of baked goods, helping to sell the items and working with the office to prepare the proceeds for the bank deposit. Please contact the office if you can help.

HALLOWEEN ON ICE
Skatetown in Roseville is hosting their 16th Annual Halloween Skate Party on Friday, October 18th with a laser light show, a DJ, free skate lessons, aids, games, & prizes. Costumes or spirit wear are welcome, so long as they’re appropriate for ice skating (masks & weapons are not advised; for additional guidelines, see this link Skatetown FAQ). Helmets, gloves, long socks, & layered clothing are recommended.
So that you can have a little more fun for a little less, your PTO will subsidize the cost! Only FRES staff, students, & their families are invited to participate in special discounted pricing of ONLY $6/wristband (incl. skate rental & admission), when pre-purchased by Oct. 16th! PTO will pay the difference! Additional wristbands can be purchased directly from Skatetown for $13.50/each at the door. Parental presence at the ice rink & supervision (on the ice or from the sidelines) is required for students to participate & all persons on the ice will require a wristband. A flyer with more information & an order/waiver form went home with your child already. Fill out the order form & waiver page & return it to your student’s teacher before Oct. 16th to get this special offer of 2 wristbands for about the cost of 1.
BOX TOPS
Physically clipped Box Tops labels should continue to be sent in to teachers or put into the collection box in the office. Box Tops received by October 18th will be included in our Fall submission to Box Tops for Education. Those received after that will be collected & submitted in the Spring. While the program is converting to a more electronic format via their App, physically clipped Box Tops will continue to be accepted until their printed expiration dates.
Box Tops can also be collected by scanning your store receipts that include participating products (Participating Product List) with your Box Tops App.
If you have e-receipts from online shopping, you can forward your e-receipts to receipts@boxtops4education.com from the same email address your Box Tops account uses. As of 7/17/19, these e-receipts are eligible: Instacart, Jet.com, SamsClub.com, Shipt, Target.com, Target Pick-Up/Drive-Up, Walmart Grocery, Walmart.com.
Spirit Wear
Every Wednesday is Spirit Wear Wednesday. The class with the most students wearing spirit wear/school colors receives the coveted Spirit Wear Trophy in their classroom for the week. Follow this link or use the link in the School App to order by mobile device.
Through October 31st, enjoy 10% off select styles (item# 229388, Ladies Advocate T-Shirt) with coupon code OCT19E.
