Eagle Friday News and Notes
November 3, 2017
I have the wonderful opportunity to see so many great things on a daily basis. Often, I am invited to visit with a class to hear about a project they are working on or sit and listen to a story that a student has written. Other times I just stumble upon a great classroom conversation or an inspiring piece of student work.
This afternoon while I was with the 4th graders during recess I noticed some "graffiti" on the back of our Buddy Bench. Upon further inspection, the penciled on words read, "Love Yourself, Love Your Friends".
I loved seeing those words and I love knowing that our children "get it".
- Please join me Wednesday morning from 8:00-9:00 for Coffee with the Principal. This is an informal time to mingle, ask questions, and get to know one another. We had a great time in September and I look forward to chatting with more of you this time around!
- Remember to Turn back your clocks one hour this weekend for Daylight Saving time. Officially Daylight saving time ends at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 5th.
- We have noticed an uptick in car riders in the morning as Autumn has settled it. We know the car rider line can be long and the timing can be tricky with traffic in the morning. Each morning staff members are outside ready to greet students and get the line moving 5 minutes early (at 7:45) to help students get to their classroom on time. Our first bell rings at 7:50 and our school day starts at 8:00. If you arrive after 8:00, we ask that you park your car in the parking lot and walk your child in the building to sign him or her in.
Have a wonderful, fall weekend!
Andrew
