Chromebooks, cases, and chargers will be collected from students following a schedule established by each school. The building principal will send a reminder email to parents to help their child remember to bring their Chromebook and charger to school on the designated return date.

We are asking students to help us by charging their chromebooks fully and turning it off completely by holding down the power button before they return it to help avoid battery problems in the fall.

Optional Protective Chromebook Messenger Bag Available

We are offering for purchase again this year, a messenger style bag seen in the picture. The District will continue to provide the impact resistant, plastic clam shell case that stays on Chromebooks for all 1:1 students.

These high quality messenger bags with rigid, padded walls and corners made by BumpArmor retail at $44 but we are able to offer them to our students at the discounted price of $25. We are taking prepaid orders NOW through Friday, June 14.

We encourage parents to use MySchoolBucks to purchase the messenger bag so students do not have to bring checks or cash to school. If you are unable to pay online, please Click here to print an order form and send in the completed form to the front office along with cash or $25 check made payable to your child's school before June 14. The bag will be available to pick up at the same time your child picks up their chromebook in the fall for all orders placed by June 14.

Messenger Bags ordered after June 14 will be delivered in mid-September.

2019-20 Chromebook Insurance

For the 2019-20 school year, insurance coverage on Chromebooks will remain at the same rate of $30 per device. Students in 3rd grade use Chromebooks at school and do not pay the insurance fee. This premium covers damages to a student's Chromebook for the entire school year. Vandalism and/or repeated negligence of care is not accidental therefore, is not covered by insurance. Repair costs will be assessed for damages caused by vandalism or negligence. Families that have 3 or more students in the 1:1 program will have insurance capped at $90. Insurance must be paid for students to take devices home. Chromebook insurance will be available to purchase through beginning August 1. Checks will also be accepted at the buildings during distribution times. Families experiencing hardship circumstances may contact the building principal to discuss financial assistance.

Parent Survey for Students using Chromebooks

If your child was in a Chromebook classroom this year, we are inviting parents to give their feedback. Please click here to take the parent survey.

Chromebook Distribution for 2019-20

Necessary forms requiring parent permission and signatures will be available online at MySchoolBucks for parents to access and complete digitally beginning August 1. Paper copies will be available in the front offices, if necessary. The District highly encourages parents to complete the forms and payment online to streamline the pick up process.

High School students will pick up their Chromebooks on their designated day during high school registration during the week of August 19.

Junior High students will pick up their Chromebooks during Bronco Roundup scheduled on August 20, 21, and 22. The JHS will be sending specific schedule to parents.

4th and 5th grade students will pick up their Chromebooks at their building Open House scheduled on August 28. Each building will notify parents of the exact pick up times.

3rd grade students use Chromebooks at school and do not take them home. They do not pay the insurance fee.

NEW Students in Grades 4-12 that enroll over the summer will need to attend an introductory Chromebook session with one of our educational technologists to learn the features and basics of navigating on a Chromebook as well as to receive their login information. These introductory sessions are scheduled during school hours on September 4 & 5.

Summer Access for Students to Google Drive and Gmail

All students will have access to their Mybedford Google drive account during the summer. However, as we have done in the past, email for students currently in 4th grade and under will be turned off on June 12 and will be reopened at the beginning of the new school year. Email access for students currently in grades 5-11 will remain on so it can be utilized to communicate with students who are participating in summer coursework or activities.
