Weekly Update

Holy Trinity Catholic School January 19th, 2023

Our Mission Statement

Our Mission is to Spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to Provide a High-Quality Education, and to Guide Children in Living the Catholic Faith.

PRAYER

Lord God, we kneel before you and worship you, for you do mighty deeds in heaven and on earth and allow us to become your children and your servants. You have done great things for many people, enabling them to serve you, and you will do still more. For you have promised that all our paths will be made straight. You have promised that all we do may be a service to you through Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, whom we follow. He will be revealed to the whole world, so that the nations will be called to serve you and your will may be done on earth as in heaven. Praised be your name, Lord our God! We open our hearts to you. In death and in life we are yours. Amen.

A Note from Mrs. Longden

Most of the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee celebrate Catholic Schools Week at the end of January and why wouldn’t we want to celebrate all of the wonderful events that happen in our growing and thriving school?

There are many reasons for the continued success of Holy Trinity Catholic School. Most importantly, we have a strong, talented and dedicated staff that work tirelessly to ensure our children are well-educated in academics, Catholic Teaching, service to others and a well-developed spiritual and prayer life, among many other great things.

We have many benefactors who have been incredibly generous with their gifts of talent, time and treasure. We have businesses who have provided continued support through grants that have allowed our school to continue to offer current technology, learning resources, and much more. We have many prayer warriors that continue to pray for our school students and staff. We have two parishes that continue to make Catholic School a priority. These are just a few of the reasons our school is thriving.

If you haven’t already, please take some time this month to take a closer look at Holy Trinity Catholic School, a great gem of our community, which continues to form our young people into better students, better disciples and better citizens who are already changing the world in countless positive ways.

Blessings,

Mrs. Longden

Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week 2023

Theme: “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.”

We are working on scheduling activities and fun for students the week of Catholic Schools Week. See the schedule attached of dress-up days and events.

Catholic Schools Week is January 29th-February 4th

Home and School will be having a Chili Dinner on Sunday, January 29th.

Below is the sign-up genius to help with the Chili Dinner.

If you have questions regarding the chili dinner, please reach out to Courtney Gruber at craeg05@gmail.com.

6th, 7th, 8th Grade Parents

We would love to have our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students come and help at the Chili Dinner on Sunday. Jesus taught and modeled the importance of serving others. The students have an opportunity to imitate Jesus and contribute to the continued growth of our school and community by helping at the Chili Dinner.

If your child is able to help with the Chili Dinner on Sunday, even if it is for a half hour or so, please sign up on the sign-up genius or email Mrs. Longden at principal@htschool.net.

The class with the highest percent of volunteers will earn a reward.

Grandparent's Day

Grandparent's Day will be on Friday, February 3rd, 2023.

We will have a 1/2 day of school that day. Dismissal will be at 11:30. There will be no busses for dismissal that day. Students can either go home with their grandparent or will need to be picked up by a parent.

Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair will run from Sunday, January 29th-Friday, February 3rd during Catholic Schools Week. See the attached sheet for times when the book fair will be open.

We will be having our Coin Drive the week before from Monday, January 23rd-Thursday, January 26th. See the attached sheet for more information.

Cellular Devices

Reminder: The school cell phone policy is:

"Cell phones will be turned in to the teacher at the beginning of the day. Cell phones are prohibited during the day. Any device visible to teachers or staff will be confiscated and sent to the office. On the first offense the students will be able to pick the phone up at the end of the school day. On subsequent offenses a parent/guardian will need to pick the phone up." (Family Handbook pg. 20)

This also includes using Watches with cellular service to communicate with others throughout the day. If students need to contact parents during the school day, they should be going through the school office, not using watches and cellular devices.

Please talk with your children who have these devices at school. If it becomes a problem, we will take the devices away.

As a reminder as well, during ITBS testing in March, Fitbits, Apple Watches, Samsung Watches, etc. will not be able to be worn during the testing.

Family Folders

Family Folders will come home next week Tuesday, January 24th. They will include Tuition and Registration documents for next year, the February Lunch Menu, 3K-5K Report Cards and Conference Requests, and.......

Father Strand's Birthday

On Tuesday, January 17th we celebrate Father Strand's birthday with him. Students sang him Happy Birthday and 10,000 Reasons, as Father enjoys hearing the children sing. We then celebrated with an ice cream treat. Check out some pictures!

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent/Teacher Conferences are Thursday, February 9th, 2023.

They are by request only, either teacher request or parent request.

If a teacher in grades 1-8 requested a conference, the form was in the Family Folder last week. Please fill out and return to school by January 26th.

If a parent would like to request a conference, please fill out the blank form that is attached, or was in last week's Family Folder.

Please remember, conferences are a time to talk with the teacher and learn more about how your child is doing. Conferences are a positive thing and are not meant to be just for children that are struggling or having problems.

Grades 3K-5K teacher request forms will be sent home on January 24th with their semester report cards.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the school office.
