Blood Drive
We are thrilled to announce that our recent blood drive was a huge success. Thanks to the hard work of the National Honor Society and the generosity of our donors, we were able to collect 31 pints of blood. That means we have potentially saved 93 lives!
We want to give a big shoutout to the Red Cross for their support and dedication to helping those in need. Thank you to everyone who participated.
Shepaug Has Talent!
Students performed rock music, monologues and comedy acts at the 2023 Talent Show.
Dream Job
Shepaug Valley School alum Taylor Swanson speaks to our Transition Class students about her job working as a pet groomer. Students were curious about her job search and interview experiences right after high school. Taylor said she was happy to combine her two interests of pet care and haircutting into this dream job. She encouraged our students to get creative and follow their dreams.
The Spartan Scope
In the March edition of Spartan Scope, Gavin Giroux, Jack Buchholz, and Tilly Skiles take the anchor seats. Annabelle Churyk and Summer Ribisl interview Mrs. Harvison, the director of Shepaug's spring musical, "The Lightning Thief," and Mia Melatti, a cast member. The musical will be running this weekend. Peyton Thomas reports on the serious issue of alcohol abuse, featuring insights from Mrs. Hurley and Liam Pacific. Nate Konik provides a lighthearted take on the excuses students use to avoid doing homework. Don't miss this fantastic episode!
Coffee Express
Washington Primary School Principal Emily Judd thanked teachers and staff for their hard work with an elaborate, traveling coffee cart complete with breakfast treats, orange juice and great-tasting hot coffee.
Senior Project Spotlight
Mateo Ramirez's senior project is titled "Constructing a Go Kart." His project is combining an enthusiasm for hands-on work and a desire to improve his mechanical skills. The project started with learning about the importance and construction of a chassis as a strong foundation to a go kart. Currently Mateo is learning about different drive and steering systems in addition to shock absorption to improve the driveability of the go kart.
