HEALTH REMINDER
If your student is experiencing any of the following symptoms, they MUST stay home from school.
Fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher
New cough or a cough that gets worse
Difficulty/hard time breathing
New loss of taste or smell
Sore throat
Nasal congestion/stuffy or runny nose
Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
Muscle pain
Extreme fatigue/feeling very tired
Severe/very bad headache
Chills
It’s essential that we all work together and stay vigilant so we can keep doing the things we want to do, including in-person learning, activities and athletics.
Additionally, please know that we follow the MN Dept. of Health Decision Tree and guidance when it comes to sending home students or staff with COVID-19-like symptoms. MDH says, "If a student or staff member becomes ill with COVID-19-like symptoms while in attendance, they should immediately be sent home, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status or prior history of disease." The decision tree indicates that if a student has at least one common symptom of COVID-19 or two less common symptoms, they need to be sent home immediately.
Here at NMS, we want to keep all of our students and staff safe and healthy and do what we can to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Following the MDH guidance is one of our tools for keeping kids and staff safe. We know this process, like many things COVID-19 related, can present challenges to families. We are here to help. Nurse Mjelleli can help provide resources for testing and vaccination and answer questions you may have. We know it's not easy, but with everyone's support, we can continue to keep our students and staff healthy!
