Reminder that all student, staff and visitors are required to wear a mask when inside our buildings. We have had many students coming daily without masks. Please help remind your child to bring a mask everyday!

Please see guidance below for choosing a mask. Gaiters, scarves, and ski masks are not substitutes for masks. Thank you for helping keep our Nicollet students and staff safe!

If your student is experiencing any of the following symptoms, they MUST stay home from school.

  • Fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher

  • New cough or a cough that gets worse

  • Difficulty/hard time breathing

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Nasal congestion/stuffy or runny nose

  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea

  • Muscle pain

  • Extreme fatigue/feeling very tired

  • Severe/very bad headache

  • Chills

It’s essential that we all work together and stay vigilant so we can keep doing the things we want to do, including in-person learning, activities and athletics.

Additionally, please know that we follow the MN Dept. of Health Decision Tree and guidance when it comes to sending home students or staff with COVID-19-like symptoms. MDH says, "If a student or staff member becomes ill with COVID-19-like symptoms while in attendance, they should immediately be sent home, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status or prior history of disease." The decision tree indicates that if a student has at least one common symptom of COVID-19 or two less common symptoms, they need to be sent home immediately.

Here at NMS, we want to keep all of our students and staff safe and healthy and do what we can to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Following the MDH guidance is one of our tools for keeping kids and staff safe. We know this process, like many things COVID-19 related, can present challenges to families. We are here to help. Nurse Mjelleli can help provide resources for testing and vaccination and answer questions you may have. We know it's not easy, but with everyone's support, we can continue to keep our students and staff healthy!

Traditionally we ask parents to help provide a meal to our teachers during conferences as thanks for all they do for our students. We are getting back to that tradition and asking for your help! Please click the link for more information and to sign up to donate or help! Thank you in advance for your help!

Application for Educational Benefits

Every year, all families with children enrolled in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 should complete an Application for Educational Benefits. Many families are eligible to receive free or reduced-price meals, as well as waived or reduced fees for transportation, athletics, activities and more!

By completing an application, you are helping to ensure every school in District 191 gets the much-needed state and federal funding it deserves.
