Ms. Craig's Classroom News
Week of October 12th
Please Bring Camp Forms :) These are due by Friday October 16th. Please contact me with questions regarding these forms or your child attending camp.
What We're Learning
In science, we will be finishing up our unit on matter and its properties. We will be making solutions tomorrow and determining what is soluble in water. We will be discussing such questions as, is air a solution? Does a solution retain the mass of both of its components? How can we separate solutions? Students will have a science review to complete as homework on Tuesday and Wednesday in order to prepare for their test. This review is bright yellow. We will review on Thursday, October 15th and test on Friday, October 16th.
In social studies with Mrs. King, students are discussing why people settle in specific places. They will be comparing two settlements, Jamestown and Roanoke, this week. Their skill for the week in reading is comparing and contrasting, which they will be practicing with these two settlements.
In reading, students will be discussing theme using a folktale. In grammar and spelling this week, they are working on plurals. Mrs. King will be having a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) on Thursday, October 15th to reinforce these concepts.
