February 2023

President's Prelude

2023 is well under way, and our band program is booming with activity! February, and the coming months, holds a lot of opportunity for students to showcase their work and for families to get involved in keeping our program strong. In February, we have Solo Nights at the schools, Solo and Ensemble, Sun Prairie Jazz Fest, Sound of Sun Prairie Kick-off and registration, Wind Ensembles’ trip to Minneapolis to work with incredible clinicians, and the annual Fish Fry Fundraiser and spring Fruit and Butter Braid fundraisers. This month holds great opportunity for you to be part of the ripple of positivity that these experiences provide for our kids and community. Please read on to see details about the events and when and how you can best contribute. It takes many hands to keep a program going strong for our kids. Now is the time to jump in and be a part of something truly special!

Funds can be used for multiple music fees throughout the school year (Field Trips, Lessons, SOSP, Summer music camps, Honor band fees)

The Booster funds are used to help cover costs for many great opportunities for ALL band members 6th grade through 12th grade. Here are just a few things we help provide for:

  • National Guest Clinicians visit and work with the Bands
  • Concert and SOSP Band Uniforms
  • Lesson Academy
  • Jazz Program
  • Sound of Sun Prairie Program
  • Varsity Point Awards
