The Quiet Traveler
Favorite Memory of a recent school experience:
A dance troupe came to our school for an assembly almost three years ago. A 3rd grade boy was chosen to dance in front of the school. This student cut up the gym floor with his creative, cool and funky dance moves. All students and staff erupted in screams, laughs and applause at his dance moves. It was exciting to see and watch! Everytime I think of this moment it puts a smile on my face. I will never forget it.
Fondest Memory of your own elementary experience:
My fondest memory of my elementary school experience was being cast in my school's annual holiday musical.
Words That Describe Me:
Dreamer, Hard Worker and Optimistic.
Bucket List:
Travel to China and see Panda Bears in their natural environment!
What is your hidden talent?
I am an excellent organizer/cleaner!
What advice would you give to someone just starting off their career in education?
Take one day at a time. Find a colleague who you can trust to be your ally, advocate and person to go to for advice when you have had a tough day.
What is the last joke that you recall:
It was a joke a student said a few days ago, but I forgot it.
Best Concert Experience:
Not a concert or event, but a little small film called Wildrose. I saw this film over the summer and it blew me away. I laughed, cried and was emotionally drained in a good, good way by the end of the film. It's about a young, Scottish woman named Rose who dreams of becoming a country music singer. In the film she has two small children and a mother. Rose relationship with her family is bumpy in the beginning. Rose has made some mistakes in her life and when the film opens you see her making a change for the better through music and singing. Not only for herself, but for her family. Her love for singing country music and taking it to the next level is what keeps her thriving and going. The story, acting and singing of this little small film is perfection, wonderful and sensational. I hope when the awards season comes around Wildrose gets the attention it deserves. One of the best films of the year.
