The Tonasket School District is now accepting in and out of district applications for the following position:
(This is a new classification within the PSE Bargaining unit. Step zero pay rate is $13.50)
5 days per week, 7 hours per day

JOB DESCRIPTION
DEPARTMENT: Campus Support (Elementary Assignment)
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
WORK DAYS: 5 days per week, 7 hours per day
Job Summary: Under the direction of an administrator, this position is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the students and campus. In addition, the duties may include managing the copy centers and other office support tasks.
DUTIES:
Assist administration with monitoring the lunchroom, recess, passing periods and the overall campus.
Develops and maintains friendly and cordial relations with students, staff, school officials, parents and community partners.
Notifies administration of unusual activities or problems.
Prepares and maintains applicable reports and records.
Manages copy centers and other office support tasks as needed.
Assists in the sick room.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES:
Ability to promote and follow School Board policies and procedures, Superintendent policies and building and department procedures
Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds
Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, use appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents and the school community
Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and School Board policies
Knowledge of community problems affecting schools
Knowledge of hazardous materials and safety procedures
Ability to work independently and with little direction within the scope of position
Hold and maintain a current first aid certification
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Operating knowledge of two-way radios required
Operating knowledge of general office equipment (copy machine, laminator, fax machine, printers, etc.)
One year of working with youth in an organized setting preferred
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
MANDATORY CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Successful clearance of the FBI and Washington State Patrol fingerprint background check.
Successful Washington State Sexual Misconduct clearance.
Completion of Federal I-9, Employment Verification Eligibility form.
