Second Grade
Week 4
Hello 2nd Grade Parents,
This week is our week to review the new skills your child has learned at home. Below you will find various links that include: teaching notes, videos, graphic organizers, charts, math review, etc. All documents that require you to print off are a PDF file for easy access. We have also provided the same paper copies at the school for pick up on Thursday, April 9th. The copies at school will be no different than the PDF files attached to this newsletter.
We are asking parents to submit the completed work digitally by Friday, April 17th or on Thursday, April 16th when you pick up your new learning at home packet. We prefer digitally if all possible, but understand if you need to drop it off.
Parents, please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions you may have.
Love,
Your Child's Second grade teachers

Social Studies
This week you will review producers and consumers.
Discussion points:
- Producers are people who MAKE goods and PROVIDE services. Ex: pizza hut, farmers, hair stylist, lawn mowing businesses, Burger King
- Consumers are people who BUY goods and services. Ex: all people who buy food, clothing, shelter, etc.
- People are both producers and consumers. Ex: An artist will go to the store and buy paints and supplies (consumer). An artist also will create works of art to sell to others (producer)
Activity
Use the sorting game to sort between producers and consumers. Encourage plenty of conversation when playing. ***There are several cards that could refer to a consumer OR a producer. If your child can defend their thinking, they are correct!https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pnKVeug1GwVkFxfcwj8AcR4EjYfwep9m/view?usp=sharing
NOTE: If you do not want to print/cut out the cards, you can just write them in a chart under either a column labeled producer or consumer.
Assignment:
Have your child draw a picture of a consumer and producer and write a sentence about each. This can be done on any type of piece of paper you have available. Will be due by April 17th.
