Happy November! There's a lot happening this month and I want to make sure that you all are informed. Please read through the information below.
As we enter into this month, let's honor, celebrate, listen, and learn from Alaskan Natives and American Indians...

Exploring Diversity and Inclusion in the Military by Washington State Historical Society
"In honor of Veterans Day, Erik Flint, Director of the Lewis Army Museum, will explore the history of diversity and inclusion in the military. Flint’s presentation will highlight several individuals and consider key moments and significant shifts in military policy and practice, with an emphasis on connections to Washington State.
Flint will be joined by veterans who have lived and shaped this history during their service in the United States military."

Curriculum Workgroup
- Members of EAC attended the US History Curriculum Adoption Meeting last week Tuesday. Members participated in a curriculum review in which the rubric was focused through an equity lens.
Retention & Recruitment Workgroup
- Members of EAC met at East Pierce Fire and Rescue Station in Bonney Lake! Thank you EAC Member, Chief Bill Mack, for hosting our group. At the meeting, we reviewed four different data points, discussed the different hiring practices, and generated a lot of questions and ideas to move the work forward.
