Wow week 3 already! It is lovely to see how our children are settling back into school routines and finding their place in the classrooms.
Unfortunately due to the uncertainty around the weather this week, we have had to postpone our Whanau, friends and food evening until next Wednesday 22 February from 5-6pm. This will be an opportunity to meet with the teachers and look through the learning spaces, meet other families. You are welcome to bring along a picnic dinner as well. We hope to see you all there.
The Butterfly and Bee Garden project is now happening on Tuesday 28 Feb from 9am. If any of our whanau would like to join us and help with this project, please see Cara in the office.
On Wednesday 22 Feb, our year 5 & 6 students will be participating in Road Patrol Training with Constable Amber Wright-Watson from 9am. Year 4 students will be given the opportunity to train in term 4.
On Fridays we have our Te Taiao sessions between morning tea and lunch. This is our opportunity to learn about and within our environment. Whanau are welcome to join us in these sessions. If you would like to know more information, please talk to your child's classroom teacher or come and see me.
We are no longer using Seesaw for Schools due to the massive price increase and have decided to trial Storypark as a way to share your child's learning with you. We are setting this up and hopefully will be able to go live with this next week. We will keep you updated!
Just a reminder that on Mondays after school, SCS children can attend Taekwondo with Aaron at the Spring Creek Community Hall. It is free for our children and their siblings. Taekwondo supports with organization, vision, body development, and mental awareness. The goal of this martial art is to give a sense of self-esteem and heightened mental and physical well being. These assets attribute to a common goal of harmony.
Have a fantastic week everyone.
