FAST FACTS
We started fast facts! You probably noticed these come home a few times. We will do these two to three times a week. They are similar to rocket math they did last year. Students will have 1 minute and 45 seconds to complete 35 problems. They are only trying to beat their own scores each time. When they complete a sheet they will move on to the next set. They gradually get harder increasing by the multiplier. They start with X 1 and 2. They also get to sign the multiplication club door as they pass each one. Fact Fluency is a huge part of math. It makes the math concepts easier as they get harder by knowing the basic facts. A great way to practice at home is to play a game of old fashioned WAR with cards. Use a deck of cards and split the deck. Each player lays down a card and they multiply the two cards together. Whomever is the fastest, keeps the cards, if there is a tie, then that means war and you go again until someone gets to take all the cards played. We play this in class and they love it!
