Reopening Criteria for In-Person Learning
Reopening Criteria for In-Person Learning
At the Aug. 6 PVSchools Governing Board meeting, in alignment with Governor Ducey’s most recent executive order, PVSchools adopted reopening criteria for in-person learning that align closely with the recommendations provided by the Arizona Department of Health Services.
To help make it easier to understand, PVSchools is using a “traffic signal” description:
- A “Green Light” signals a return to in-person learning based on a 14-day average of:
- Testing positivity below 5 percent* AND
- Daily cases less than 10 per 100,000 population
- A “Yellow Light” signals caution for a possible return to online learning based on a 14-day average of:
- Testing positivity between 5 and 10 percent* OR
- Daily cases between 10 and 50 per 100,000 population
- A “Red Light” signals a stop to in-person learning and a return to online learning based on a 14-day average of:
- Testing positivity above 10 percent* OR
- Daily cases more than 50 per 100,000 population
*Within our district, ZIP codes, and surrounding areas
We will establish a minimum two-week transition period to allow for the necessary planning to switch back to in-person learning options. Online learning options such as PVConnect and PVOnline will also continue to be available once in-person instruction is permitted.
