Weekly Update
Week at a Glance: October 16th - 20th
We are Wiser Together
The feedback from our deep dive into MAP data was great, many of you wanted copies of the data analysis sheets, I will make those available to you all after I edit a few typos and reorganize some of the cells to match the order of the data on the reports so that they are even easier to use. Thank you all for the genuine efforts yesterday, our hope is that anytime we are together that it is useful and productive work.

Golden Spatula
We will also go over how each side east and west can earn a movie during lunch this week! On average each week they are earning around 30 points per side so for each time that we hit 40 points we will earn a letter of movie and once that side gets all 5 letters they will be able to watch a movie or show at lunch!
Positive Office Referrals of the Week

I linked the Zoom link to the Vermilion logo on the first page as well.

Unity Day - Wear Orange!
VES will wear orange to unite for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion in recognition of National Bullying Prevention Month.
Homeroom teachers will be given orange stickers to distribute to students. Stickers will be available for all staff in the copy room.
The following links provide ideas as to how your classroom can recognize Unity Day. What you choose to do is up to you! If you don’t have enough time on Unity Day, no worries– Bullying Prevention Month lasts all throughout October!
Monday, October 23 - Friday, October 27, 2023
Red Ribbon Week
VES uses this week-long initiative to promote healthy lifestyle choices. This year’s national theme is “be kind to your mind.”
Homeroom teachers will receive a copy of the RRW Pledge in their mailboxes. Teachers should foster a discussion about the importance of being kind to our minds to live a healthy life. Teachers can invite students to sign the pledge and display it on their classroom doors by the end of the week for everyone to see!
Students will have the opportunity to participate in a coloring contest. Coloring pages will be distributed by Wednesday, October 18th and are due by Wednesday, October 25th.
“Rally in Red” on Friday, October 27th
All students and staff will rally together by wearing red to recognize all we have learned about making healthy choices.

Trunk or Treat 10-24 Participants
Hello Team,
If you are planning on decorating a trunk and passing out candy, let me know. If you are working as a group on one trunk, I only need one of you to let me know. I need to get a count of trunks that will be present. It is a super fun night and our most attended family event. I hope you will consider participating. We usually have about 400 kids!!!!!
