Share the Feast Humanitarianism Project - Drew L. & Carter J. (block 2)
This program was started by my mom’s friend’s son three years ago. Jack was seven and raised money for a boy named Temesgen. This year on Thanksgiving, Jack and his family went to Ethiopia. They found out that Temesgen has been living on his own for more than six months because his mom got sick and he was left to fend for himself. He was living in a mud shack no bigger than a closet that was barely standing, and all of his supplies that he had, fit into a shopping bag. Since then, they have been selling Share The Feast t-shirts for $20, and every t-shirt pays for a child’s food in Ethiopia for a whole month. This will go on until December 5th. If you would like to help feed a hungry child, please go to the link below.
The importance of independent reading
Your child should have read about 8-9 books by the end of November. Please check in with him or her.

Year-Long Humanitarian Projects
• This year students will have the opportunity to show 3 different humanitarian acts within the community.
• Each project will be documented with a picture of the student performing the act/event and a short paragraph. These will be displayed all year to celebrate our acts of good will.
• Between Mrs. O'Rourke's and Ms. Hill’s class, it is our goal to perform 300 acts within our community.
• We will also be brainstorming different project ideas within our school and school community.
